Product losses are not new to fuel distributors and occur for a multitude of reasons. Temperature shrinkage, errors in the metering chain, spillage, leakage and vapour loss are some of the reasons. Sadly some distributors suffer from another cause…….loss of fuel in transit due to human interference. It’s a prospect that managers and business owners are reluctant to consider, but with the soaring cost of fuel, it’s a possibility that should be monitored.

Mechtronic over the past 6 months have been fielding telephone calls relative to the conformity of our and other manufacturers metering systems fitted to fuel oil delivery trucks relative to the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC. When is a litre not a litre? …..Unfortunately for about 10 months of the year.
Temperature related shrinkage costs UK Fuel Oil Distribution £22m per year.
Mechtronic have worked together with National Weights and Measures to establish temperature compensated mid distillate deliveries on trucks carrying our own metering systems. This will deliver an average annual saving of £8000 per truck per year.

Russ During the Race
MechTronic’s Russell Poulter was one of a record 8,000 competitors who took part in the Leeds abbey dash last weekend. Russell completed the 10k event in time a of 46 minutes 20 seconds and managed to raise £115 for Help the Aged in doing so.
“I was a little disappointed with the time as I was aiming for under 45 minutes but other than that it was a great day, the rain held off until after I’d finished and it was all for a worthy cause” Said Russell after the event.

Only four months after welcoming Ron & Tony on board MechTronic are pleased to welcome two more new faces to our highly motivated and dynamic work force in the form of Carl Robb (Right) & Michael Foord (Left).

Mike & Carl
Carl Joins our Technical Support department and further strengthens the already impressive after sales support we are able to offer our customers. Carl brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience of the tank truck industry from his previous employment which he is looking forward to building on at MechTronic. Initially taking a trainee role, Carl will be shadowing our existing network of Technical support engineers and will no doubt soon be providing the first class service & support to which our customers have become accustomed to.
Micheal Joins our office team in the role of Sales/Service administrator to further improve our efficiency in dealing with customer enquires and requests. He will be responsible for processing customers sales orders as well as operating our soon to be launched Technical Support management software which, amongst other things, will enable us to provide real time status reports on all our Technical Support team in terms of location and progress.
The addition of both Carl & Michael further underlines MechTronic’s growth and our continued commitment to providing our customers with the very best possible products & services.
